TROY M. HANNA

President & CEO

Troy M. Hanna serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Spartanburg County Foundation where he is responsible for leading the organization toward community betterment, asset growth and donor engagement. Along with the Chief Operating Officer, Troy leads the Trustees and Staff on the mission, vision, and strategies of the Foundation.  Prior to joining the Foundation in 2014, Mr. Hanna was Vice President and Private Client Relationship Manager for TD Wealth in Spartanburg.  Prior to working for TD Bank, Hanna was Vice President and Private Banking Relationship Manager for Wachovia Bank in Spartanburg from 1997 to 2006.

Mr. Hanna is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.  Additionally, he spent his junior year abroad at St. Andrews University in Scotland.

Mr. Hanna is an extremely active leader in the Spartanburg community and has held extensive leadership roles with a host of organizations throughout the Spartanburg County area.  He currently sits on the Northside Development Advisory Board, the board of the Spartanburg Academic Movement, and is a member of the Spartanburg Downtown Rotary Club.  His past board service includes the following organizations:  The Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg, University of South Carolina Upstate Foundation, Pine Street School Foundation, SAFE Homes-Rape Crisis Coalition, Hatcher Garden and Woodland Preserve, Spartanburg Art Museum, Spartanburg County Historical Association, and The Music Foundation of Spartanburg.  Hanna is a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg and The Riley Institute at Furman University’s Diversity Leaders Initiative, and he was the 2009 recipient of the United Way of the Piedmont’s Walter S. Montgomery Award for Young Leadership.

A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Mr. Hanna has lived in Spartanburg for 23 years and is married to Cecilia Kelley Hanna with two children, Lillian and Mac
