Karen is a seasoned business professional with over 25 years of experience in operations, marketing, and communications positions across several industries and the non-profit sector. Most recently, she managed sales, marketing and operations for her business unit at iResponze, a hospitality services firm.
Prior to that position, she served as Director of Strategic Marketing at Limestone College where she managed all marketing initiatives and was also involved in operational aspects of the Extended Campus program. During her tenure at Limestone, the college received the Marcom Platinum award for a single spot television commercial. Previously, Karen held a position as Stewardship Information Officer in Donor Services at Clemson University, where she developed personalized communications plans for major donors and assisted in the planning of donor events. Prior to her time at Clemson, Karen spent 12 years managing marketing communications at Sealed Air Corporation, maker of Bubble Wrap® packaging and Cryovac® food packaging.
Karen is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Communications. She also holds an MBA from Limestone College. She is married to Dr. Randy Nichols and has two daughters. Karen enjoys hiking, traveling, baking, yoga, and is an enthusiastic football fan. Her volunteer activities include teaching a children’s class at her church, SPIHN ministry volunteer, and serving on her church’s Finance Team. Karen’s roots are in Jacksonville, Fla., but she has been calling South Carolina home for close to 30 years.
