NANCY BAIN COTÉ

Trustee

Since graduating from Converse College with a bachelor’s degree in 1979 and a master’s degree in 1981, Nancy Bain Cote’ has served the Converse College community as an admissions counselor and assistant director of Alumnae Affairs.  For several years she was an AFAA certified aerobics instructor and taught fitness classes at both the Spartanburg YMCA and the Spartanburg Athletic Club. Upon the arrival of her second child, she left the professional world and has devoted her spare time to community service.

Mrs. Cote’ is a member of First Presbyterian Church where she has been a Sunday School teacher for children and adults.  She currently is a member of their Sanctuary Guild and a Bible Study small group leader.  She is the past chair of the Converse College Alumnae Association Board and past president of the Junior League of Spartanburg and the Spartanburg Day School Parents’ Club.  She has served on the Parents Council at Furman University and the University of the South, Sewanee as well as the Board of Visitors and Board of Trustees (ex-officio) of Converse College and the Board of Trustees (ex-officio) of the Spartanburg Day School.

She currently serves on the boards of the Charles Lea Center Foundation and Mobile Meals of Spartanburg and has been a Mobile Meals volunteer driver for over 25 years.   She is a member of Women Giving for Spartanburg, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Spartanburg, and a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg.  Additionally, she has served on various committees for First Presbyterian Church, Hatcher Garden, The Spartanburg Philharmonic, and the Spartanburg Day School.

Mrs. Cote’ and her husband, Paul, reside in Spartanburg.  They have two children, Anna Cote’ Hall and Abigail Cote’, and one adorable granddaughter
